Always Fresh, Never Stale
Sometimes after working long hours, being short-staffed, and a variety of other stressors, it can make telecommunicators "stale." This course encourages telecommunicators to stay "fresh" in different aspects. We will briefly discuss the history of 911 then further discuss new technology and data. We will also look at changes in society/community and how they affect new employees, interacting with callers, and the safety of field responders. Major topics of discussion during this section will be generational changes, personality types, civil movements, and community tragedy/experiences. We will have a minor overview of legislative changes. Lastly, reaffirm all points to encourage telecommunicators to stay fresh.

Culture Sets the Course:
How the Right Environment Fuels or Fails Your Training Program
Even the most well-designed training program can crumble in the wrong environment. In Culture Sets the Course, we explore how organizational culture directly influences the effectiveness, longevity, and impact of your training initiatives.
This interactive session dives into five core cultural impact areas and gives you tools to evaluate and strengthen each. Through real examples, self-assessment activities, and practical strategies, you’ll learn how to create a culture where training doesn't just exist, it thrives.
Whether you're a training leader, supervisor, or someone passionate about shaping your center’s future, this session will help you align culture with curriculum, empower your trainers, and build a foundation that fuels success from day one.

Dispatcher Debates
This course is designed to equip telecommunicators with the fundamental techniques necessary to structure and deliver impactful presentations, enhance their persuasive language skills, engage in productive debates, and foster teamwork and collaboration. Through interactive exercises and practical examples, participants will develop the necessary communication skills to excel in their role.

Feedback Fluency
This course will define feedback and demonstrate its usefulness in our personal and professional development. Delivering objective feedback in a professional manner, in order to effect change, is a lifelong skill that can serve you with your team members as well as when you move into a leadership role. Just as important as delivering feedback, we’ll notice how accepting feedback makes room for more growth.

From Console to Coordinator:
Elevating Training, Empowering People, Strengthening Culture
Stepping into a training leadership role isn’t just about scheduling sessions or updating materials, it’s about shaping the very culture that new hires walk into. In From Console to Coordinator, we explore the powerful evolution from frontline telecommunicator to organizational changemaker. This session offers a behind-the-scenes look at building a dynamic training program from the ground up while navigating the challenges of learning a new center, gaining buy-in, and aligning curriculum with cultural values.
Whether you’re aspiring to become a training leader, recently stepped into the role, or looking to refresh your approach, you’ll walk away with tools to create programs that develop people, not just processes. Learn how to evaluate your agency’s culture, engage trainers across all levels, and implement strategies that fuel morale, strengthen structure, and make training meaningful.
This class is a mix of storytelling, reflection, and practical application, all designed to help you lead with purpose and build with intention.

Launching Beyond the Console
The sky is the limit when it comes to opportunities! This session discusses and defines professional development and why it is important for you and your organization. We will begin with a pre-check to make sure you meet the criteria necessary for launch. We will then take a deep dive into the components of a professional development plan and allow you time to put it to the test with an upcoming goal. Finally, after your successful launch, we will discuss ways you can share your knowledge and get others in your orbit of endless opportunities.

Professionalism in the Midst of Pandemonium
Because we are expected to be at our best on our community’s worst day, we all need tools to navigate these complicated interactions. This session will focus on the importance of professionalism on purpose. We will recognize the role of emotional regulation in the respond vs react model. Tips and techniques for self-regulation will be provided so that the next interaction over the radio, on the phone, or in person with our co-workers will reflect positively on you and your agency.

Movement is Medicine
In this uplifting session, we’ll explore how movement can serve as a powerful tool for emotional well-being, stress relief, and reconnection - especially for those working in high-impact professions like 911. We’ll look at the mental health benefits of intentional movement and challenge the idea that fitness has to be intense to be effective.
Then, we’ll put it into joyful practice!
Using the Zumba platform, a dance fitness method that celebrates all bodies and movement styles, participants will be invited to move in a way that feels good to them. Whether seated or standing, this inclusive dance session is designed to be empowering, energizing, and fun. No experience necessary. Just bring your open mind, your stress, and your willingness to shake it off. Because everyBODY is a dance body, and joy is contagious.

Shift Happens
Conflict Resolution in the 911 Center
In the fast-paced world of emergency response, spending long hours in close quarters under even the best conditions can sow the seeds of conflict. When you add in the pressure-cooker environment of handling 911 emergencies, conflict becomes all but inevitable. Together, we'll uncover strategies to transform conflict into opportunities for growth and collaboration, ensuring that our teams can continue to operate efficiently even in the most challenging circumstances

The Pursuit
Everyone wants more from life! This course will focus on how to create circumstances and conditions that help us achieve more, more happiness, more job satisfaction, better performance, more contentment, more energy, more motivation, & an overall more abundant life.
Not only will I share research that demonstrates the benefits of practicing gratitude, this class is meant to empower participants to let go of people & things that don't serve them well while finding the ones that do. I'll share my approach to moving with intention (Yes, exercise!) to create joy. Lastly, I will focus on the importance of setting goals to achieve continual self-improvement (along with guidance on changing dreams into action plans to achieve those goals).
