Casey Rives worked at Fairfax County Public Safety Communications in Fairfax, VA for over a decade. During her time at Fairfax, she acted as a calltaker, police dispatcher, teletype operator, trainer, crisis/hostage negotiator and police liaison. She also participated in joint team efforts, such as – EMD and quality review, over the years. In 2021 – Casey took an interest in the evolving technology she saw within the 9-1-1 center and made a career change into the private sector. She enjoys helping from ‘the other side of the headset’ and is inspired daily to ensure our centers have the ability to utilize needed technology. As a solutions consultant for her company, Casey interacts with agencies from around the world and sees the differences in protocols/standards. In addition to her career, she is a member of several NENA working groups, a volunteer with Gold Line Support and a key member in her company’s Employee Resource Group , ‘ Women’s Inclusion Network.’
